The Lamborghini Huracán Performante is the hardcore specification within the first-generation Huracán and the direct spiritual successor to the Gallardo Superleggera. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017 and delivered through 2019, the Performante represents the peak of the naturally aspirated V10 within the Huracán line: 640 hp from the familiar 5.2-litre V10, 70 kg lighter than the regular LP610-4 through extensive use of Forged Composites, and the first introduction of Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), Lamborghini's active aerodynamics system. At launch the Performante set a Nürburgring production-car record of 6:52.01, at the time faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder. A Huracán Performante is not sold to just any buyer; it is passed on to someone who knows the naturally aspirated V10 Performante culture and values the difference between an LP610-4 and a Performante.
The Lamborghini Huracán Performante was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017 as the hardcore specification of the Huracán line. The Performante followed the same philosophy as the Gallardo Superleggera (2007-2008 and 2010-2012): increase power, reduce weight, sharpen aerodynamics, and offer a stripped specification for track performance. The naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 (engine code CAM/CC) was uprated to 640 hp at 8,000 rpm, a 30 hp increase over the LP610-4 Huracán. The key technical feature however was ALA 1.0, Lamborghini's first active aerodynamics system.
Months before the official launch the Huracán Performante set a Nürburgring production-car record of 6:52.01 around the Nordschleife in October 2016. This was faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder (6:57), the previous record holder. The record was instrumental in the marketing positioning of the Performante and confirmed Lamborghini's serious ambition for track performance. The record was later beaten by various production cars, but for the Performante the Nürburgring result remains a historical marker.
The Performante introduced extensive use of Forged Composites, Lamborghini's proprietary carbon-injection technology developed in collaboration with Callaway Golf. Unlike traditional carbon fibre components, Forged Composites are pressed into moulds, enabling more complex geometries with consistent strength. The front spoiler, bonnet, side blades, rear wing, and factory-installed interior elements are all made from Forged Composite. Total weight saving over the LP610-4 is 70 kg; the Performante's dry weight is 1,382 kg.
In 2018 Lamborghini introduced the Huracán Performante Spyder. The car retains the same 640 hp V10, ALA 1.0, and all factory Forged Composite elements of the coupé, with an electric soft-top roof mechanism that folds away behind the cabin. For collectors the Performante Spyder is scarcer than the coupé and consistently higher priced in factory Ad Personam colour. Factory-installed graphic stripe combinations (black-orange, black-silver, contrast stripe) are particularly sought after by collectors.
The Performante has seen a steadily rising valuation curve since launch. In 2025 the market for a well-documented Performante coupé in factory specification sits substantially above the original list price, with factory Ad Personam specifications and Performante Spyders in a higher tier. For sellers this means a well-documented Performante with proven Lamborghini service history, original specification, and confirmed factory specification attracts strong international interest. The buyer you want is a Lamborghini collector who values the naturally aspirated V10 Performante culture and knows the specific Performante specification.
The Huracán Performante was delivered as coupé and as Spyder (from 2018). The Spyder retains the same 640 hp V10, ALA 1.0 active aerodynamics, and factory-installed Forged Composite elements, with an electric soft-top roof mechanism. For collectors the Spyder is generally scarcer than the coupé and can command a substantial premium in factory Ad Personam colour.
Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) is a defining Performante feature: an active aerodynamics system that electronically manages airflow around the front spoiler and rear wing. The system switches within 500 ms for downforce or drag reduction depending on driving conditions. For collectors, confirmation that the ALA system is fully functional is essential.
For Performante collectors, factory Ad Personam colours and rare factory colours such as Verde Mantis, Arancio Anthaeus, Giallo Inti, Blu Eleos, and factory matte specifications strongly drive price. Factory Forged Composite packs exterior and interior, factory-installed graphic stripe, and leather specification with factory embroidery substantially reinforce value.
