The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (LP770-4 SuperVeloce Jota) is the most extreme regular Aventador specification. Unveiled in July 2018 at Pebble Beach and delivered through 2020, the SVJ represents the peak of Aventador development: 770 hp from the same naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 (ALA 2.0) active aerodynamics, and factory-installed carbon packs that immediately on launch took the car to a 6:44.97 Nürburgring production-car record. The Jota addition refers to Bob Wallace's test car from 1971 and has since been reserved for the most extreme Lamborghinis. Produced in strictly limited numbers (900 coupés and 800 Roadsters), the SVJ is substantially scarcer than the Aventador SV. An Aventador SVJ is not sold to just any buyer; it is passed on to someone who knows the SVJ culture and values the difference between an SV and an SVJ.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ was unveiled in July 2018 at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The Jota addition in the name refers to Bob Wallace's test car from 1971 (the Miura Jota) and has since been reserved for the most extreme Lamborghini specifications. The SVJ marked Lamborghini's return to the Jota segment after almost fifty years of absence, with substantial technical updates over the Aventador SV. Production was strictly limited to 900 coupé examples and 800 Roadster examples. A further SVJ 63 special edition was released (63 cars, named after Lamborghini's founding year 1963) with specific factory Ad Personam configuration.
Immediately after launch the Aventador SVJ set a Nürburgring production-car record: 6:44.97 around the Nordschleife. This was the fastest time ever recorded by a production car at that point and beat the Porsche 911 GT2 RS record (6:47.3) by more than two seconds. The record was later beaten by the Mercedes-AMG One in 2024 and other hypercars, but for the Aventador SVJ the Nürburgring result remains a historical marker and an important selling context.
The SVJ retained the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated L539 V12 but with further sharpened internal components, uprated intake and exhaust, and engine management updates. Power rose to 770 hp at 8,500 rpm, a 20 hp increase over the SV. The key technical feature however was Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 (ALA 2.0): an active aerodynamics system that electronically manages airflow around the front spoiler and rear wing. The system switches within 500 milliseconds between downforce mode (for track performance) and drag-reduction mode (for top speed), and can even apply aero-vectoring (different loading on the left and right for cornering). The chassis engineering was further refined with sharpened LDVA settings and four-wheel steering.
In 2019 Lamborghini introduced the Aventador SVJ Roadster, limited to 800 cars. The car retained the 770 hp V12, ALA 2.0, and all factory carbon packs of the coupé, with removable carbon roof panels that could be stored in the front luggage compartment. The SVJ 63 (63 cars, named after Lamborghini's founding year 1963) was a specific factory Ad Personam configuration of the SVJ coupé, with factory-installed exclusive colour combination, more extensive factory carbon packs, and build plate with '63' identification. For collectors the SVJ 63 in original specification is generally the most expensive regular Aventador model.
The Aventador SVJ has seen a strong and consistently rising valuation curve since launch. In 2025 the market for a well-documented SVJ coupé in factory specification sits substantially above the original list price, with SVJ Roadsters and SVJ 63 in their own high tier. For sellers this means a well-documented Aventador SVJ with proven Lamborghini service history, original specification, complete factory documentation, and confirmed Polo Storico Certificate of Authenticity attracts strong international interest. The buyer you want is a Lamborghini collector who values the naturally aspirated V12 Jota culture and knows the specific SVJ specification.
The SVJ was delivered as coupé (900 cars), Roadster (800 cars), and SVJ 63 (a factory-installed special edition limited to 63 cars, named after Lamborghini's founding year 1963, with specific factory Ad Personam configuration). For collectors the SVJ 63 in original specification is generally the most expensive regular Aventador model.
Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 is a defining SVJ feature: an active aerodynamics system that electronically manages airflow around the front spoiler and rear wing. The system switches within 500 ms for downforce or drag reduction depending on driving conditions. For collectors, confirmation that the ALA system is fully functional is essential.
For SVJ collectors, factory Ad Personam colours and rare factory colours such as Arancio Atlas, Verde Alceo, Giallo Orion, Blu Le Mans, and factory matte specifications strongly drive price. Factory carbon packs exterior and interior, Forged Composite elements, and leather specification with factory embroidery reinforce value. SVJ 63 has a specific factory Ad Personam configuration.
Photos of the factory-installed build plate with production number (1-900 for SVJ coupé, 1-800 for SVJ Roadster, 1-63 for SVJ 63). For collectors early chassis numbers and complete factory documentation are crucial. Keep the factory build sheet and any Polo Storico confirmation of the limited specification.
SVJ service is specialist work: the L539 V12 at 770 hp requires attentive inspection of head gaskets, timing chains, and cooling system. The ISR transaxle and ALA components require factory diagnostics. Service at a Lamborghini dealer or recognised Lamborghini specialist is essential; major service every two years.
Decisive for the SVJ, particularly for SVJ 63 and factory Ad Personam Roadster specifications. Apply via a Lamborghini dealer or Polo Storico in Sant'Agata Bolognese based on the chassis number. Confirms factory specification, colour, production number, and all factory-installed options.
For SVJ collectors low mileage (under 5,000) in original condition is generally strongly value-driving. Document number of previous owners, any trackday participation, complete service history, and proof of no damage history. For top valuation unmodified factory specification is essential.
Note: These factors may influence buyer interest. Value depends on many factors.

Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 is a defining SVJ feature. Document factory diagnostic report from Lamborghini confirming the ALA system is fully functional, including front spoiler motor flaps, rear wing actuator, and aero-vectoring. For collectors, proof of working ALA is essential.
Paint colour with factory code, Ad Personam confirmation if applicable, factory carbon packs exterior and interior, Forged Composite elements, leather specification with factory embroidery, any factory-installed graphic stripe. For SVJ 63: confirmation of the specific factory Ad Personam colour combination.
