In February 1967 three Ferrari 330 P3/4s and one 412 P finished first through third in the Daytona 24 Hours race, a podium formation that defined Ferrari's victory over Ford for an era. Fifty-five years later Ferrari honoured that day with the Daytona SP3, the third model in the Icona series following the Monza SP1 and SP2. Production years: 2022-2026, volume: 599 cars worldwide, allocation strictly by invitation to existing Ferrari customers. Under the bonnet sits the F140 HC V12 producing 840 hp at 9,500 rpm, shared with the 812 Competizione but further developed for an additional 10 hp. The carbon monocoque chassis is derived from the Monza SP architecture. Targa specification with a hand-removable roof panel.
Ferrari unveiled the Daytona SP3 in November 2021 as the third specification in Ferrari's Icona series. The Icona series is a exclusive subseries within Ferrari's production line, launched in 2018 with the Monza SP1 (single-seat barchetta) and Monza SP2 (two-seat barchetta), both limited to 499 cars combined. The Daytona SP3 (599 cars) followed in 2022 as a targa specification. The Icona series is built by Ferrari Special Projects (Ferrari's official division for limited specifications) and is only offered to existing Ferrari customers via invitation-only allocation. For collectors the Daytona SP3 represents the top of Ferrari's Icona culture.
The Daytona SP3 has naturally aspirated 6.5-litre F140 HC V12, shared with the 812 Competizione but further developed with 10 hp extra (840 hp in Daytona SP3, 830 hp in 812 Competizione). The F140 HC has redline 9,500 rpm, VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies per cylinder, and lighter pistons. For collectors the F140 HC in the Daytona SP3 represents the most power-oriented regular production Ferrari V12 specification ever built (840 hp is highest power of any regular production Ferrari V12 without PHEV or turbocharging).
The name Daytona SP3 refers to Ferrari's historic 1-2-3 finish at the Daytona 24 Hours race in 1967, where three Ferrari 330 P3/4 and Ferrari 412 P took the first three positions (Ferrari 330 P3/4 at positions 1 and 2, Ferrari 412 P at position 3). The Daytona SP3's design includes retro elements that honour the 330 P3/4: targa specification (closed Coupé with removable roof panel), classic collar-shaped air intakes on the sides, retro shaping of the bonnet, and classic Ferrari design elements. For collectors the Daytona SP3 represents the refined historic retro specification.
The Daytona SP3 has unique carbon chassis architecture, not shared with other regular production Ferraris. The carbon chassis specification shares architecture with the Monza SP1 / SP2 but is further developed for the Daytona SP3 with improved stiffness and targa specification. For collectors carbon chassis represents a substantial technical investment and exclusive Icona architecture.
Since production start in 2022 the Daytona SP3 has seen a substantially strong initial appreciation curve. At launch the Daytona SP3 cost around 2 million euros new (allocation price); on the secondary market well-documented examples trade substantially above original new price. The collector class position of the Daytona SP3 is strengthened by: scarce production (599 cars), Icona series positioning, 840 hp naturally aspirated V12, carbon chassis, and exclusive allocation system. For sellers this means a well-documented Daytona SP3 with proven service history at Ferrari Maranello or recognised specialist, original original specification, Tailor Made confirmation (where applicable), and Ferrari Classiche certification attracts substantial international interest.
The Daytona SP3 is limited to exactly 599 cars worldwide, produced in 2022-2026 at the Ferrari Maranello factory. For collectors confirmation of production batch via factory chassis number and Ferrari Classiche certification is essential. Production was exclusive for existing Ferrari customers (invitation-only) with allocation system.
The Daytona SP3 is available in regular colours (Rosso Magma, Argento Daytona, Nero Daytona) and Tailor Made specifications. For collectors Tailor Made specifications and Daytona SP3-specific colours are substantially value-adding. The classic Argento Daytona is generally the most sought-after signature colour.
The F140 HC V12 (naturally aspirated, 6.5 litres, 840 hp, redline 9,500 rpm) is shared with 812 Competizione (in 812 Competizione 830 hp) but further developed for Daytona SP3 with 10 hp extra. For collectors F140 HC condition is substantially value-driving. Document VANOS service and oil consumption status.
The Daytona SP3 has unique carbon chassis (not shared with other production Ferraris). The carbon chassis specification is shared with Monza SP1 / SP2 (earlier Icona specifications) but further developed for Daytona SP3. For collectors, carbon chassis condition and factory chassis certification are essential.
The Daytona SP3 has unique retro design that honours Ferrari's 1-2-3 finish at the Daytona 24 Hours race in 1967 with Ferrari 330 P3/4. The design includes targa specification (closed Coupé with removable roof panel), classic collar-shaped air intakes on the sides, and retro shaping. For collectors Daytona SP3-specific design elements are essential.
Ferrari Maranello-recognised service is essential. For Daytona SP3: F140 HC V12 service (VANOS, oil consumption status), F1 DCT mechatronics service, carbon chassis condition inspection, Carbon Ceramic Brake status, and Power Warranty status.
For Daytona SP3 collectors low mileage (under 5,000 for 2022-2023, under 2,500 for 2024-2026) is substantially value-driving. Number of previous owners (typical ownership chronology is one or two owners), market version, any Tailor Made specification, Ferrari event participation, and geographic distribution are value-adding.
Note: These factors may influence buyer interest. Value depends on many factors.
The Daytona SP3 chassis number and type plate. Specific production batch (of 599 cars worldwide), model year (2022-2026), market version (Europe, US, Asian markets), and Daytona SP3-specific equipment details. Request Ferrari Classiche certification via Ferrari Maranello.
For Daytona SP3 Ferrari Classiche certification is substantially value-adding. Apply via Ferrari Maranello in Italy via Ferrari Classiche form. Confirms factory chassis number, factory engine number, production date, original original specification, package elements, Daytona SP3-specific specification, and Icona series positioning.
All invoices from Ferrari Maranello or recognised specialist. For Daytona SP3: F140 HC V12 service (VANOS, oil consumption status, timing chain condition), F1 DCT mechatronics service, carbon chassis condition inspection, Carbon Ceramic Brake status, and Power Warranty status.
The F140 HC V12 (naturally aspirated, 840 hp, redline 9,500 rpm) is shared with 812 Competizione but further developed for Daytona SP3. Document VANOS service, oil consumption status, timing chain condition, individual throttle bodies, and redline test.
The Daytona SP3 has unique carbon chassis architecture. Document carbon chassis condition (no cracks, no delamination), factory chassis certification, and factory chassis inspection report from Ferrari-recognised specialist.
Paint colour with Ferrari factory code: regular colours (Rosso Magma, Argento Daytona, Nero Daytona) or Tailor Made specification. For Tailor Made document unique elements with Ferrari Classiche certification. Document targa specification and removable roof panel condition.
