The Ferrari F8 Tributo is Ferrari's mid-engine V8 Berlinetta from the early 2020s, built in 2019-2022 with a production spread across F8 Tributo Coupé and F8 Spider. The name F8 Tributo honours Ferrari's V8 heritage (Tributo is Italian for tribute); the name F8 stands for Ferrari 8 cylinders. It is the successor to the 488 GTB (2015-2019) and predecessor of the 296 GTB (2022-present, V6 PHEV). The package includes biturbo 3.9-litre F154 CD V8 (further developed from F154 CB in 488 Pista) with 720 hp, F1 seven-speed DCT, exclusively rear-wheel drive, and E-Diff electronic limited-slip differential. Ferrari unveiled the F8 Tributo in March 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show as the successor to the 488 GTB (2015-2019). The name Tributo is Italian for tribute and honours Ferrari's V8 heritage (from 308 GTB in 1975 to F8 Tributo in 2019, 44 years Ferrari V8 culture). The F8 Tributo was replaced in 2022 by the 296 GTB (V6 PHEV) as Ferrari's regular production mid-engine Berlinetta. The central technical point of the F8 Tributo is the biturbo 3.9-litre F154 CD V8 - directly derived from F154 CB in the 488 Pista (720 hp, identical power). The F154 CD has further developed turbo architecture, dual injection (direct + port injection), refined boost mapping, and F8-specific software. The result: 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque, redline 8,000 rpm. For collectors the F154 CD in the F8 Tributo is Ferrari's last regular production pure V8 (all newer regular production Berlinettas, 296 GTB, have V6 PHEV).
The F8 Tributo introduces Ferrari's unique S-Duct aerodynamics - design element for improved downforce that is directly derived from Ferrari 488 Challenge race specification. The S-Duct leads air via central air channel through the nose ring, which increases downforce without increased drag. For collectors the F8 Tributo represents Ferrari's refined aerodynamics specification in regular production V8 Berlinetta.
In 2020 Ferrari introduced the F8 Spider - open Convertible specification with electric retractable hardtop (RHT, 14 seconds to open or close).
