STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, a homologation designation that refers to Lamborghini's own one-make race series. The Huracán STO (2020-2024) is closer to the Super Trofeo race specification than any other Huracán. Beneath the body sits the same V10 as in the Performante (640 hp), but the STO is exclusively rear-wheel drive, a break from Lamborghini tradition since the Diablo VT (1993). The upper section of the body, bonnet, front bumper and front wings, consists of a single removable carbon-composite panel ("cofango"), directly derived from the Super Trofeo Evo race car. The fixed rear wing produces 53% more downforce than the Performante's active wing. Carbon-ceramic brakes with CCM-R architecture (from Brembo, developed for F1 in 2002) come as standard. The STO is the Huracán for the extreme end of the spectrum, unlike the Performante, not an all-rounder.
The Lamborghini Huracán STO was unveiled in November 2020 as the most race-oriented road Huracán. The abbreviation STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata: a direct reference to the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO race car that has competed in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make championship since 2018. The STO was developed jointly between Lamborghini Squadra Corse (the motorsport division) and the road-car engineering teams, with the aim of translating the Super Trofeo EVO's racing character as closely as possible into a road-legal specification. Production ran to 2022, although Lamborghini has not publicly disclosed specific numbers.
The STO retained the naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 (engine code CAM/CC) at 640 hp at 8,500 rpm, with uprated internal components and revised engine management for track performance. The most striking difference from the Performante is the drivetrain: the STO uses rear-wheel drive only, unlike the four-wheel drive of the LP610-4, LP580-2, and Performante. The Cofango front section (a contraction of the Italian 'cofano' and 'parafango': bonnet and fender) combines bonnet, front fenders, and integrated front spoiler into a single carbon component. Around 70% of the STO's bodywork is made from carbon. Dry weight is 1,339 kg, around 43 kg lighter than the Performante.
The STO uses Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0, the same active aerodynamics as the Aventador SVJ. The system includes motor flaps on the front spoiler, a rear wing adjustable in three heights, and aero-vectoring (different loading on the left and right for cornering). Total downforce is 53% higher than the Performante. Other aerodynamic features include a snorkel air intake on the roof (inspired by the Super Trofeo EVO), more extensive rear diffuser, and carbon fins. For track performance this is one of the most advanced aero packages on a production Lamborghini.
The STO's interior is deliberately stripped: stripped door panels with pull straps instead of handles, carbon bucket seats, four-point harnesses, carbon centre console, and no factory infotainment system (only a digital instrument cluster and the required multimedia screen). Optional factory accessories include a roll cage, fire extinguisher, and telemetry system for track data. For collectors a fully original factory-specification STO is most valuable; interior modifications generally reduce value.
The STO has seen a strong and consistently rising valuation curve since launch. In 2025 the market for a well-documented STO in original specification sits substantially above the original list price, with factory Ad Personam specifications in a higher tier. STOs with Super Trofeo livery (black-orange-white, original specification inspired by the Super Trofeo race cars) are particularly sought after. For sellers this means a well-documented STO with proven Lamborghini service history, original specification, and (for track-oriented buyers) documented trackday history with post-session service attracts strong international interest.
The Cofango (a contraction of Italian 'cofano' and 'parafango': bonnet and fender) is a defining STO feature. The entire front section, including bonnet, front fenders, and integrated front spoiler, is made from a single piece of carbon. Document that the Cofango is original and not an aftermarket replacement. Around 70% of the STO's bodywork is made from carbon.
The STO uses Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 (the same as the Aventador SVJ), with motor flaps on the front spoiler and a rear wing adjustable in three heights. Total downforce is 53% higher than the Performante. For collectors, confirmation that all aero elements (Cofango, rear wing, rear diffuser, snorkel air intake) are original is essential.
The STO is unique within the Huracán line for rear-wheel drive (no four-wheel drive as on LP610-4 or Performante). The drivetrain comes directly from the Super Trofeo EVO race car. For collectors and enthusiast drivers the RWD drivetrain is a decisive feature; confirm the exact specification via documentation.
For STO collectors, factory Ad Personam colours and rare colours such as Blu Laufey, Arancio California, Verde Citrea, matte specifications, and Super Trofeo livery strongly drive price. Graphic stripe combinations with contrasting colours and carbon packs interior substantially reinforce value.
STO service is specialist work: the naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 at 640 hp, the race-derived chassis settings, the Cofango front section, and ALA 2.0 require diagnostics. Service at a Lamborghini dealer or recognised Lamborghini specialist is essential; major service every two years.
Decisive for the STO, particularly for factory Ad Personam specifications and Super Trofeo livery examples. Apply via a Lamborghini dealer or Polo Storico in Sant'Agata Bolognese based on the chassis number. Confirms original specification, colour, carbon packs, and all options.
For STO collectors low mileage (under 5,000) in original condition is generally value-driving, although the STO also has a natural home on the track. For track-oriented buyers documented trackday history with proven post-session service at Lamborghini is attractive; both markets exist in parallel.
Note: These factors may influence buyer interest. Value depends on many factors.
Huracán STO (2020-2022). Model year, chassis number, and engine number. Confirm the car is sold in original specification: factory Cofango, rear wing, factory snorkel air intake, bucket seats. Factory build sheet if available.

Photos of the Cofango front section (bonnet, front fenders, and integrated front spoiler as a single carbon component) and all carbon packs exterior (rear diffuser, snorkel air intake, rear wing, fins) and interior (bucket seats, centre console, door panels). Confirm all elements are original and not replaced.
Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 is a defining STO feature. Document diagnostic report from Lamborghini confirming the ALA system is fully functional, including front spoiler motor flaps and rear wing actuator with aero-vectoring. For collectors, proof of working ALA is essential.
All invoices from a Lamborghini dealer or recognised Lamborghini specialist. The naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 at 640 hp, the Cofango front section, ALA 2.0, and race-derived chassis settings require diagnostics. Major service every two years; document all completed work.
Paint colour with factory code, Ad Personam confirmation if applicable, Super Trofeo livery if applicable, carbon packs interior, leather specification with embroidery, any graphic stripe. Original Ad Personam order configuration substantially raises value.
Number of previous owners, mileage, any trackday participation (date, location, number of sessions), post-session service at Lamborghini, any damage history. For collector-oriented sales without track focus low mileage is value-driving; for track-oriented buyers documented trackday history is a selling point.
