The Huracán (2014-2024) is Lamborghini's most commercially successful model to date. Across ten production years around 20,000 cars left the Sant'Agata factory, more than Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murciélago combined. Beneath the bonnet sat a 5.2-litre V10, ranging in output from 580 hp in the standard LP580-2 to 640 hp in the Performante. Two gearboxes: dual-clutch transmission (LDF, Lamborghini Doppia Frizione, shared architecture with Audi R8). Two drive options: all-wheel drive (LP610-4, LP640-4) or rear-wheel drive (LP580-2, LP610-2 Spyder from 2017). Numerous limited specifications followed: Performante (2017, 640 hp with ALA active aero), Evo (2019 facelift), STO (2020-2024, hardcore rear-wheel-drive specification), Tecnica (2022-2024, balanced daily-use specification) and Sterrato (2023-2024, all-terrain). The Temerario (2024) is the first successor with PHEV architecture.
The Lamborghini Huracán was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 as the successor to the Gallardo, Lamborghini's best-selling model up to that point. The car shared a refined chassis platform with the second-generation Audi R8, but with Lamborghini-specific styling, engine tuning, and interior. The LP610-4 produced 610 hp from a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 at 8,250 rpm, and replaced the Gallardo's e-Gear single-clutch with a new 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (LDF, Lamborghini Doppia Frizione). For collectors the LP610-4 marks the transition from Gallardo to Huracán and in original colour with proven service history offers an accessible entry into modern Lamborghini ownership.
The Huracán LP580-2 was unveiled in 2015 as the rear-wheel-drive specification, positioned below the LP610-4. With 580 hp and RWD, it offered a driving character regarded by many as purer and more playful than the all-wheel-drive LP610-4. For enthusiasts of pure rear-wheel drive in a modern mid-engine super sports car, the LP580-2 is a unique position. For later generations this concept returned in the EVO RWD, Tecnica RWD, and STO (RWD only). For collector-oriented sales the RWD specification in factory PTS colour is generally more attractive than the all-wheel-drive specification.
The Huracán Performante was unveiled in 2017 and immediately afterwards set a Nürburgring record for production cars of 6:52.01, at the time the fastest production car time ever. The car produced 640 hp from a sharpened V10 and received Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA): an active aerodynamics system that electronically manages airflow around the body and rear wing. ALA offered +750 percent more downforce than regular Huracáns. The Performante also received forged-composite elements (a Lamborghini invention: short-fibre carbon composite formed by press), weight saving, and racing seats. For collectors the Performante in factory Ad Personam colour is one of the most sought-after regular Huracáns.
The Huracán EVO was unveiled in 2019 as the facelift with integrated electronic systems, the first time Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) was applied to a Huracán. The Tecnica (2022-2024, RWD) is positioned between EVO RWD and STO, with factory Performante-derived aerodynamics but road-oriented specification. The STO (Super Trofeo Omologata, 2020-2024, RWD) is the most extreme regular Huracán: a road-legal version of the Huracán Super Trofeo race car, with double-snorkel intake, redrawn rear wing, carbon roof, and racing seats. For collector-oriented sales the STO in factory Ad Personam colour is the most sought-after regular modern Huracán, particularly with racing stripes.
In 2023 Lamborghini unveiled the Huracán Sterrato, a unique experiment: an off-road version of the Huracán with raised wheel arches, body protection panels, all-terrain tyres, and roof-mounted air intakes. The Sterrato (610 hp, AWD) was limited to 1,499 examples and offers a unique concept within the modern super sports car segment: a mid-engine V10 with off-road capabilities. For collector-oriented sales the Sterrato is a sought-after specification due to its limited production and unique positioning.
The Huracán line represents the broadest modern Lamborghini buyer segment. Regular LP610-4 in original colour with full service history is accessible and offers strong value retention. The Performante, STO, and Tecnica (particularly in factory Ad Personam colour) have seen a steadily rising valuation curve since 2018. The Sterrato (1,499 built) has traded consistently above list since launch. Production of the Huracán line was concluded in 2024 with the Tecnica and STO specifications; for sellers this means a well-documented Huracán with proven Lamborghini service history, original specification, and factory build sheet attracts strong international interest. The buyer you want is a Lamborghini enthusiast who values the naturally aspirated V10 culture.
LP610-4 (all-wheel drive, 610 hp), LP580-2 (rear-wheel drive, 580 hp), Performante (640 hp, Nürburgring record), EVO (all-wheel drive or RWD, 640 hp), Tecnica (RWD, 640 hp), STO (Super Trofeo Omologata, RWD, 640 hp), Sterrato (off-road specification, all-wheel drive, 610 hp). For collector-oriented sales the Performante and STO are the most sought-after specifications.
Both body specifications are available for most Huracán specifications. The Performante Spyder was built in limited numbers; the STO is offered only as coupé (no Spyder). For collectors the Performante Spyder is scarcer than the coupé and can command a substantial premium.
For Huracán collectors, factory Ad Personam colours, rare colour configurations (Verde Mantis, Giallo Orion, Arancio Argos, Blu Eleos, matte specifications) strongly drive price. carbon packs exterior and interior, forged Composite elements, and sports seats reinforce value.
Huracán service is specialist work due to the 5.2-litre V10 (shared with the Audi R8) and the 7-speed LDF gearbox. Service at a Lamborghini dealer or recognised specialist is essential; major service every two years including clutch inspection, head gaskets, and transaxle oil.
For STO: double-snorkel intake, redrawn rear wing, racing seats, carbon packs exterior and interior, carbon roof. For Performante: factory Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active aerodynamics, forged-composite elements, racing seats. Confirm originality of all aero elements.
For STO and Sterrato: production number plate. For collector-oriented sales early chassis numbers and factory order configuration are relevant. Keep build sheet and first-delivery documentation.
Note: These factors may influence buyer interest. Value depends on many factors.
LP610-4, LP580-2, Performante, EVO (AWD/RWD), Tecnica (RWD), STO (RWD), or Sterrato (AWD). Coupé or Spyder (no Spyder for STO and Sterrato). Model year, engine code, aero status. For STO, Performante, and Sterrato: production number and factory build plate.
All invoices from a Lamborghini dealer or recognised specialist. The 5.2-litre V10 and LDF gearbox require specialist knowledge. Major service every two years; document clutch status, head gaskets, coolant replacement, transaxle oil. Service at Lamborghini is essential.
Paint colour with factory code, Ad Personam (Lamborghini PTS equivalent) confirmation if applicable, carbon packs exterior and interior, Forged Composite elements, racing seats and leather specification. Original factory order configuration substantially reinforces value.
Photos of aerodynamic elements: ALA system (Performante), double-snorkel intake (STO), redrawn rear wing, carbon roof (STO), forged-composite elements. All elements must be original for collector value.
Photos of panel condition, carbon panel state, any stone chips or minor damage, carbon roof condition (STO). For collector-oriented sales, proof of undamaged bodywork and factory-spec elements is essential.
Number of previous owners, mileage, any trackday participation (particularly on Performante and STO), post-session service at Lamborghini or specialist, any damage history. For collector-oriented sales low mileage and original condition are highly valued.
For STO, Sterrato, and Performante: photos of production number plate. For collector-oriented sales early chassis numbers and proven factory order configuration are crucial for top valuation.
