The Lamborghini Aventador SV (LP750-4 SuperVeloce) is the hardcore specification within the Aventador line and the first true SV since the Murciélago LP670-4. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015 and delivered through 2017, the SV represents the concentrated heart of the Aventador concept: the same naturally aspirated 6.5-litre L539 V12 as the LP700-4, but uprated to 750 hp, 50 kg lighter through more extensive carbon packs, a stripped interior, and the first introduction of Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA), an integrated electronic chassis system. Produced in around 600 coupé and 500 Roadster examples, the SV is substantially scarcer than the regular LP700-4. An Aventador SV is not sold to just any buyer; it is passed on to someone who knows the naturally aspirated V12 SuperVeloce culture and values the difference between an LP700-4 and an LP750-4 SV.
The Lamborghini Aventador SV was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 as the hardcore specification of the Aventador line. The SV designation (SuperVeloce) had not been used since the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce (2009-2010, around 350 coupés), giving the Aventador SV an immediate strong collector status. Lamborghini positioned the car as the pure driving expression of the Aventador concept: the same naturally aspirated 6.5-litre L539 V12, but sharpened for track performance and weight saving. Production was strictly limited to around 600 coupé examples and 500 Roadster examples worldwide.
The Aventador SV retained the 6.5-litre L539 V12 but with sharpened internal components and revised engine management. Power rose to 750 hp at 8,400 rpm, a 50 hp increase over the LP700-4. Torque remained 690 Nm. The car received more extensive factory carbon packs exterior (bonnet, front spoiler, rear diffuser, rear wing) and interior (door panels, centre console), which together with lighter wheels and a stripped interior delivered a 50 kg weight saving. Dry weight was 1,525 kg. The SV also introduced Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA), an integrated electronic chassis system that coordinated traction control, stability control, four-wheel steering, and magnetorheological dampers for improved track performance.
Shortly after launch the Aventador SV set a Nürburgring record for production Lamborghinis in July 2015: 6:59.73 around the Nordschleife. This was one of the fastest times ever recorded by a naturally aspirated supercar at that point, and it confirmed Lamborghini's serious ambition for track performance with the SV specification. The record was later beaten by the Aventador SVJ (6:44.97 in 2018), but for the Aventador SV the Nürburgring result remains an important selling context and historical marker.
In 2016 Lamborghini introduced the Aventador SV Roadster. The car retained the 750 hp V12, LDVA system, and all factory carbon packs of the coupé, but was delivered with a two-piece removable carbon roof that could be stored in the front luggage compartment. Production of the SV Roadster was around 500 cars, scarcer than the coupé. For collectors the SV Roadster in factory Ad Personam colour is consistently one of the most valuable Aventador specifications.
The Aventador SV has seen a strong and consistently rising valuation curve since launch. In 2025 the market for a well-documented SV coupé in factory specification sits consistently above the original list price, with top examples in factory Ad Personam colour in a substantially higher tier. The SV Roadster is generally priced higher than the coupé. For sellers this means a well-documented Aventador SV with proven Lamborghini service history, original specification, and complete factory documentation attracts strong international interest. The buyer you want is a Lamborghini collector who values the naturally aspirated V12 SuperVeloce culture and knows the specific SV specification.
The Aventador SV was delivered as coupé (around 600 cars) and as Roadster (around 500 cars, with removable carbon roof panels). For collectors the SV Roadster is scarcer and can command a substantial premium over the coupé, particularly in factory Ad Personam colour. Both specifications share the same 750 hp V12 and LDVA chassis system.
For SV collectors, factory Ad Personam colours (Lamborghini's PTS equivalent) and rare factory colours such as Arancio Atlas, Verde Mantis, Giallo Orion, Blu Sideris, and factory matte specifications strongly drive price. Factory carbon packs exterior and interior, Forged Composite elements, and leather specification with factory embroidery substantially reinforce value.
SV service is specialist work due to the single-clutch ISR transaxle (seven-speed) and the L539 V12. Service at a Lamborghini dealer or recognised Lamborghini specialist is essential; major service every two years including clutch inspection, and engine-out work on head gaskets where necessary. Document every service.
The SV has a full carbon monocoque with aluminium subframes and more extensive factory carbon packs than the LP700-4. Document bodywork condition, carbon panel state, factory-installed aero elements (rear wing, diffuser), and any stone chips or damage history. For collectors, proof of an undamaged monocoque is decisive.
Decisive for the SV, particularly for factory Ad Personam specifications and SV Roadster examples. Apply via a Lamborghini dealer or Polo Storico in Sant'Agata Bolognese based on the chassis number. The document confirms factory specification, colour, factory carbon packs, and all factory-installed options.
The ISR transaxle uses a single-clutch that is expensive to replace at high wear or after rough use. Document a clutch wear report from Lamborghini, any clutch renewal, and keep invoices. For an SV with higher mileage this is an important selling point.
For SV collectors low mileage (under 10,000) in original condition is generally strongly value-driving. Document number of previous owners, any trackday participation, factory build sheet, and complete service history. Proof of no damage history and unmodified factory specification is essential for top valuation.
Note: These factors may influence buyer interest. Value depends on many factors.
LP750-4 SuperVeloce coupé or LP750-4 SuperVeloce Roadster. Model year (2015, 2016, 2017), chassis number, and engine number. For the Roadster: confirmation that the removable carbon roof panels are present and in original condition. Factory build sheet if available.
Decisive for the SV, particularly for factory Ad Personam specifications and SV Roadster examples. Apply via a Lamborghini dealer or Polo Storico in Sant'Agata Bolognese based on the chassis number. Confirms factory specification, colour, factory carbon packs, and all factory-installed options.
All invoices from a Lamborghini dealer or recognised Lamborghini specialist. The L539 V12 and ISR transaxle require specialist knowledge: clutch status, head gaskets, transaxle oil, cooling system. Major service every two years; document all completed work. General-garage invoices carry considerably less weight.
Paint colour with factory code, Ad Personam confirmation if applicable, factory carbon packs exterior and interior, Forged Composite elements, leather specification with factory embroidery. Original Ad Personam order configuration substantially raises value; document the exact specification via factory documentation.
The ISR transaxle uses a single-clutch that is expensive to replace at high wear or after rough use. Document a clutch wear report from Lamborghini, any clutch renewal, and keep invoices. For an SV with higher mileage this is an important selling point.
Photos of the carbon monocoque, exterior panels (carbon and aluminium), factory-installed aero elements (rear wing, front spoiler, rear diffuser), any stone chips or minor damage. For collectors proof of an undamaged monocoque and original factory aerodynamics is essential.
Number of previous owners, mileage, any trackday participation, geographic distribution. For collector-oriented sales low mileage in original condition is generally strongly value-driving; document proof of no damage history and unmodified factory specification.
