The Collectables is a likeable Dutch auction platform, but the model has its limits. The buyer commission is 10% including VAT with a €300 minimum and no published maximum, the car must be located in the Netherlands, the auction takes about two weeks including viewings at your home, and professional photos are mandatory through a photographer you pay yourself, around €300. If you are looking for a shorter process, a lower cost for buyers or an audience beyond the Netherlands, there are alternatives. Below they sit side by side, with the published rates and the main differences.

When choosing, look at three things above all. Where are the buyers for your car: only in the Netherlands, or also in Belgium, Germany and beyond? What does the buyer pay on top of the bid, since that weighs on what they can offer? And what does the process ask of you: viewings at home and a two-week auction, or a short online process without visitors at your door?
