Mercedes-AMG built only 275 examples of the ONE. The model was unveiled at the IAA in 2017 but reached first customers only in 2022. That long development period was needed to make Formula 1 technology suitable for use on public roads. The drivetrain combines a 1.6-litre V6 turbo with four electric motors, together producing 1,063 hp and revving to 11,000 rpm. The AMG ONE appears only sporadically on the international used market. For the sale of an example, the relevant buyer market therefore lies almost entirely outside the Netherlands.
The four electric motors sit in specific places. Two are mounted on the front axle (one per wheel) and provide electric all-wheel drive with no mechanical link to the rear. The third electric motor, the MGU-K, is attached to the gearbox and recovers energy during braking. The fourth, the MGU-H, runs on the turbocharger shaft and keeps the turbo at speed before exhaust gases take over, virtually eliminating turbo lag. These MGU-K and MGU-H come directly from the Formula 1 drivetrain. Top speed is 352 km/h; 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.9 seconds.
The F1-derived V6 differs fundamentally from a conventional AMG engine. Mercedes-AMG specifies periodic factory rebuilds of the block; these rebuilds are not carried out at a regular Mercedes dealer but at an authorised AMG Performance Center. For a potential buyer, the status of these rebuilds and the supporting invoice trail is a verification point. An AMG ONE with documented service through the correct network sits differently in the market than one without that documentation.
The 275 cars are not evenly distributed worldwide. A large share went to the United Kingdom and the Middle East, with smaller allocations to mainland Europe, North America and Asia. For a sale in the Netherlands this matters: the natural buyer pool for an AMG ONE consists of a small, internationally operating group. A campaign aimed only at the Dutch market misses the majority of those buyers.
For this kind of car, valuation shifts sharply with mileage. An AMG ONE with a few thousand kilometres sits at a different price level than one with regular use. The pattern matters more than the headline figure: trackdays, long-distance use, or predominantly storage each carry different weight.
Mercedes-AMG offered the ONE in a limited selection of colours and interior configurations. The original build specification influences international demand; distinctive colour choices can work either positively or negatively depending on the target market.
The F1-derived drivetrain requires a specific service schedule carried out by Mercedes-AMG or authorised service partners. A complete invoice history, including interim diagnostics and any rebuilds, is a determining input for the reserve price.
Build sheet, original invoice, COC, key set, option lists and original delivery documentation should all be present. At international auction this is a verification point for potential buyers before any bid is placed.
For the Dutch market, BPM status, VAT status and any EU import provenance are relevant. For international sale, the net outcome depends on the buyer's tax regime. We assess in advance which routes are feasible.
A short ownership chronology generally works positively, particularly if the car has been serviced at an authorised AMG partner since delivery. A traceable service history via an AMG Performance Center provides a verifiable reference point for buyers.
Beyond standard equipment, some examples carry additional factory options. Cosmetic condition, minor chips or signs of use are priced in by buyers; honest documentation of these reinforces rather than diminishes the outcome.
Note: These factors may influence buyer interest. Value depends on many factors.
Send us a brief description with chassis number and mileage. We assess without charge whether an auction is suitable at this point, and which approach offers the best outcome for your situation.
Vehicle registration, build sheet, COC, original invoice, key set, owner pack, and service booklet or digital service record. All invoices from Mercedes-AMG or authorised service should be present.
Request a full service overview from your AMG Performance Center. For the ONE specifically: confirmation of factory rebuild status, software updates, and any additional diagnostics.
We coordinate professional photography and video for the campaign. You reserve time for a shoot at a location of your choice; the car stays with you and does not need to be transported.
Based on the specific characteristics of your car and international reference sales, we propose a reserve price. This stays confidential and is only fixed once you have agreed.
Octane's bidding period runs for seven days. The car stays with you during this period. Viewings by interested buyers take place by appointment and in consultation with you.
When the reserve is met, the sale is binding to the highest bidder. Octane connects buyer and seller to complete the transaction. Payment can run directly or, on request, via a third-party account. For international buyers we can refer you to partners for export and registration administration.
Submit your car and our team will review it within 48 hours
