Bugatti is not an ordinary car brand. It is a name that represents the absolute pinnacle of speed, engineering, and exclusivity. What Ettore Bugatti began as the pursuit of mechanical perfection was continued under Volkswagen Group leadership with the Veyron and Chiron, cars that rewrote every convention about what a road car can be. With production numbers of just a few hundred per model, every Bugatti is a rarity. Owners of these cars deserve a selling platform that reflects the exclusivity of their possession.

The 1991 Bugatti EB110 marked the beginning of the modern Bugatti era. With its 3.5-litre quad-turbo V12, all-wheel drive, and a top speed exceeding 340 km/h, the EB110 was far ahead of its time. The GT version offered daily comfort, while the SS (Super Sport), with less weight and more power, was a pure racing machine. Today, only 139 examples of the EB110 are accounted for. Values have risen sharply in recent years, and the car is recognised as one of the most important supercars of the 1990s.
The auction format is ideal for a car of this calibre. The limited pool of potential buyers is spread internationally, and an auction brings them together around a specific example. That leads to fair pricing that does justice to the rarity.
The Veyron 16.4 changed everything we thought we knew about road cars in 2005. The 8.0-litre W16 engine with four turbochargers delivers 1,001 hp and a top speed exceeding 400 km/h. The Grand Sport added an open-air experience, and the Super Sport broke the speed record at 431 km/h. Approximately 450 Veyrons were produced in total across various variants.
In the hypercar market, the Veyron is now an established classic. Early 16.4 examples represent the most accessible entry into Bugatti ownership, while the Super Sport and rare editions (L'Or Blanc, Rembrandt, Les Legendes) command premiums running into the millions. The auction format provides transparency in a market that normally operates behind closed doors.
The Chiron surpassed the Veyron with 1,500 hp and an even more refined driving experience. Production of 500 units encompasses several variants: the Sport (sharper focus), the Pur Sport (circuit-optimised), and the Super Sport 300+ that became the first production car to break the 300 mph barrier. Additionally, there are strictly limited models such as the Divo (40 units) and the Centodieci (10 units).
For these cars, discretion is important, but so is access to the right buyers. The auction format at Octane combines both: a professional, targeted presentation to a qualified buyer audience, with the transparency of an open bidding process.
Bugatti maintenance is among the most expensive in the automotive industry, and buyers know it. A tyre change alone costs tens of thousands of euros on the Veyron (tyres must be sent to Bugatti headquarters in Molsheim for fitting on special wheels). A major service can cost hundreds of thousands. Buyers therefore expect a complete and uninterrupted service history with Bugatti itself. Missing service documentation on a Bugatti is an immediate dealbreaker.
The W16 engine is an engineering marvel, but also extremely complex. Buyers look at the condition of the turbochargers (four units), the cooling system (with multiple radiators), and the transmission. On the Veyron, the seven-speed DSG system is a known attention point. Documentation of preventive maintenance on these components is indispensable.
With a Bugatti, originality is valued above all else. Any deviation from factory specification, whether an aftermarket exhaust or modified interior trim, diminishes value. Buyers expect a car in the condition as delivered by Bugatti, with all original parts and documentation intact. Cosmetic condition is equally important: paint damage, interior wear, or damaged carbon fibre components are critically assessed on cars in this price segment.
Every car gets a tailored campaign: positioning, spec highlights, and distribution to enthusiasts and collectors across Europe.
