Our team reviews your submission within 48 hours. If your car is a good fit, we'll confirm next steps and answer any questions you may have.
Complete the Listing
Once approved, you'll complete a detailed form with specifications, history, and photos. You may upload your own photos or work with one of our recommended professional photographers.
Listing Preparation
We prepare a high-quality auction listing with a clear description, specifications, and presentation optimized for serious buyers. You review everything before the auction goes live.
Auction Goes Live
Your auction runs for 7 or 14 days and is supported by a dedicated marketing campaign. We promote your car across Octane and through targeted advertising and social content, specifically aimed at serious buyers and collectors in Western Europe.
During the auction: buyers can ask questions publicly, you remain in control of the car, and we actively manage visibility, engagement, and bidder momentum. The auction ends automatically at the scheduled closing time (with anti-sniping extensions if bids come in near the end).
Sale & Handover
After the auction:
- We connect buyer and seller via private chat
- Payment and final arrangements are handled directly between you and the buyer
- Escrow is available upon request
- If required, we can introduce trusted partners for documentation, transport, and handover support

No Costs for Sellers
You pay nothing to list or sell on Octane. If the car sells, our fee is charged to the buyer.

Safe & Transparent
All bidders are verified. Bidding is fully transparent, and payment is arranged securely between buyer and seller (escrow or direct transfer).
Auction Rules
- Auction duration— Each auction runs for 7 to 14 days by default; enough time to reach the right audience and build strong bidding momentum.
- Anti-sniping protection— If a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes, the timer resets to 5 minutes. This prevents last-second sniping and gives everyone a fair chance to respond.
- Bid increments (minimum raises)— To keep bidding clear and consistent, minimum increments apply:
- • €50 for bids up to €5,000
- • €100 for bids up to €10,000
- • €250 for bids up to €25,000
- • €500 for bids above €25,000
- Reserve price— You set the minimum selling price (reserve). The reserve is never shown to bidders, and your car will never sell below it.
- Bidder reservation (deposit)— To ensure only serious bidders participate, a refundable reservation is required:
- • €1,000 for bids up to €33,333
- • €3,600 for bids above €33,333
- Full transparency— All bids and timestamps are visible in real time, from start to finish: ensuring a transparent process for both buyers and sellers.

Sellers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about their vehicles, including condition, maintenance history, and specifications. Octane reserves the right to pause or remove listings if information proves to be incorrect or misleading. All taxes, registration fees, and transfer costs are always the responsibility of the buyer. If BPM, VAT, or import duties apply, this is always explicitly stated in the auction description. If the seller decides to cover certain costs, this is also indicated in the auction description.
